The Project
It all began when I was eating lunch at Point State Park. I noticed over weeks an exercise group would have daily workouts in the park. I got inspired…there should be an app a person, whether a local or traveler, can look up and join an exercise group.
On social media, the instructor posts the place and time the group will meet up. Moving the group from place to place will keep the class fresh and exciting.
From there… whala the planning of Exerzone.
Design Process
First step, a bit of research. Reaching out to my friends via email and telling them of my idea, I asked what features would they like to be included. Some items were:
- Sort by what type of exercise
- Being able to save my favorites
- Read about the instructor
Great feedback.
Planning the pages the next step. Sign in, search functionality, results and instructor profiles were a few screens needed. After sketching out the site map, started to prototype. At this time, I’m at the point of receiving feedback on the prototype. Wanting the user group to concentrate more on the useability than look, the prototype was provided a wireframe form.
On this project, I took the opportunity to use the new prototyping tool Abobe XD (Adobe Experience Design). Started using the product in its preview form and now it’s in Beta.
